Children in Need

Children in Need Day!!

We have had a great day in Class six for Children in Need. Thank you to all our parents and guardians for the support this term to raise money for some very deserving causes!

We enjoyed our time in the hall playing games, eating cakes and having fun all whilst raising money. We have even been dressing Pudsey in different outfits and describing him in Welsh!

We have enjoyed learning about Guy Fawkes this week and the reason we celebrate Fireworks Night. We have even written a diary in character of Guy Fawkes. As tonight is fireworks Night, we decided to create our own firework scenes using a printing technique in art. Here is us in action:

We loved learning and performing our Harvest Samba song before half term! We also enjoyed making Harvest hats to wear during our performance!

All that singing and dancing has got us excited for the next round at... Christmas!

Measuring

We have been measuring this week in class 6!

We have enjoyed developing our skills to measure objects and other members of our class. Some of us have especially enjoyed finding out whether the statements about boys and girls are true, such as do boys have bigger heads than girls and are our feet really the same size as our forearm!

We hope to use our skills in the future to become famous fashion designers!
Watch out for class 6 on the red carpet in years to come!

A big welcome back to all of our new year 4 children. In class 6, we have settled back into school with a splash as we started our topic for the term, Cast Away. The children have already been imagining life on board a boat as well as being cast away on an island. We have already been finding out how many countries we could locate on the world map, looking at famous works of art and researching the island St. Lucia.

Great start year 4! Keep up your hard work!

Bob the builder, can he fix it? No, but Class 6 can!

We have been busy measuring, sawing and joining to make our mazes.
First we wrote about what our mazes should include. Next, we designed lots of different mazes.
When we had designed a number of mazes, we chose our best design and thought about how we could make it. Then, we followed our method to make our mazes!

We are still busy, putting the finishing touches on our mazes but come back soon to see our final products!

Music in Class 6

We are becoming masters of music in Class 6!
We have begun to read and write music.
Check out some of the fun we've been having.

We hope that there will be more to come from our composing skills.

What is it really like in space?

This week, class 6 have been wondering what it must be like to be in space. As a class, we have begun to describe the earth from the view in space. We looked at pictures taken by a real scientist on board the ISS and watched videos of her in space. To find out what space is like, we decided to write a letter and think about how our lives would change if we went to the ISS.
We hope to continue our mission to understand what space is like following the half term.
