The Romans

We absolutely loved our trip to Caerleon!

We learnt so much; what the Roman Soldier's wore, where they lived, what they did, where they went to swim and exercise.

We loved dressing up to feel like a Roman Soldier!

Our trip was so fun and interesting that we decided to design our own Roman shields to finish off our outfits! Have a look and see what you think!

Did you notice anything similar in our designs?

Roman's designed their shields using only two or three colours but the colours were bold. The shields were also symmetrical. Lots of shields had patterns and symbols including the well known Eagle wings.

We enjoyed painting the shields and folding them in half to create a perfect symmetrical image.

Children in Need

Children in Need Day!!

We have had a great day in Class six for Children in Need. Thank you to all our parents and guardians for the support this term to raise money for some very deserving causes!

We enjoyed our time in the hall playing games, eating cakes and having fun all whilst raising money. We have even been dressing Pudsey in different outfits and describing him in Welsh!

We have enjoyed learning about Guy Fawkes this week and the reason we celebrate Fireworks Night. We have even written a diary in character of Guy Fawkes. As tonight is fireworks Night, we decided to create our own firework scenes using a printing technique in art. Here is us in action:

We loved learning and performing our Harvest Samba song before half term! We also enjoyed making Harvest hats to wear during our performance!

All that singing and dancing has got us excited for the next round at... Christmas!

Measuring

We have been measuring this week in class 6!

We have enjoyed developing our skills to measure objects and other members of our class. Some of us have especially enjoyed finding out whether the statements about boys and girls are true, such as do boys have bigger heads than girls and are our feet really the same size as our forearm!

We hope to use our skills in the future to become famous fashion designers!
Watch out for class 6 on the red carpet in years to come!

A big welcome back to all of our new year 4 children. In class 6, we have settled back into school with a splash as we started our topic for the term, Cast Away. The children have already been imagining life on board a boat as well as being cast away on an island. We have already been finding out how many countries we could locate on the world map, looking at famous works of art and researching the island St. Lucia.

Great start year 4! Keep up your hard work!
